All About Men

Remember that post I did on What Women Say But What They Really Mean. Well, it's just that a comment made by Tonex got me into thinking that I should probably post something about What Men Say But What They Really Mean. The fact is, that was what he hinted about. And it just seems just and fair for men, you know. Plus, considering that I did make an oath to uphold justice and fairness, that does makes sense. Although, actually, that oath was really on a totally different context...

Anyway. So, I scoured and dug my database of free and not-covered-by-copyright materials but I couldn't quite find an exact parallel to that list. All I could come up, however, is the list below. It isn't much, but I hope it serves it's purpose of paying tribute to men. Uh, okay, some of them may not. But hey, I did my best.

So here's for the guys (the literal meaning this time). May you find comfort in these timeless words of wisdom:

  • When a man decides to marry, it may be the last decision he'll ever make.
  • Marriage brings music to a man's life. He learns to play second fiddle.
  • Courtship, unlike proper punctuation, is a period before a sentence.
  • An engagement is an urge on the verge of a merge.
  • Some men who speak with authority at work know enough to bow down to a higher authority at home.
  • Love is the quest, marriage is the conquest, divorce is the inquest.
  • A dish towel will certainly wipe the contented look off a married man's face.
  • Getting married is one mistake every man should make.
  • The argument you just won with your wife isn't over yet.
  • A well-informed man is one whose wife has just told him what she thinks of him.
  • Before criticizing your wife's faults, you must remember it may have been these very defects which prevented her from getting a better husband than the one she married. (Ouch!)

Hope you had fun reading that.

I like the part about marriage being the last decision he'll ever make. And that one which describes marriage as conquest and divorce - ta da! inquest...There's a sinister undertow to this list, however. I can't quite place it. If this were a court, and I were a lawyer, I will surely entertain the notion of making a plea for the judge to inhibit herself from the case. Hahaha.

Pareho pala blogging sked natin? I thought you were slacking off. Yun pala you're up to some mischief. Again. :)

"Some men who speak with authority at work know enough to bow down to a higher authority at home" - i can see this with my parents. Haha.

and this:

"The argument you just won with your wife isn't over yet" - kelangan last say ang babae. :)

"Getting married is one mistake every man should make."

This phrase should be read my all men. Mistakes are there not to let you down but to make you better. Marriage will bring the best in every husband, most especially if the couple has kids.

great post!

this is good article, marriage could be the last decision he made and some men make the best out of it...

Remember, once you are married, that's the only time you will find out, what your partner made of....

I only know that in a relationship it always take two to tango.....

Have a nice day....

wow! puro guys unang nagcomment!
i like the last part: about criticizing the wife. It's so true!
Husbands should be careful in criticizing or finding fault in his wife, it will boomerang and hit them hard on the face (but if only the wife knows how to counteract immediately huh?)
I like this post. I read it to my hubby. :) He smirked, hehehe.

I thought this is suppose to be a tribute to men. : (

At home or in cyberspace, men are always at the lossing end when things are run by women. You just can't win. The best thing you can achieve is a tie... around your neck!

@Jan: Hi Jan! Hahaha. Yes, I did notice that undertone too.

Yeah, we have the same schedule, hehe. That's why after I post, I go na to your blog and read your post. Oh, I try not to slack off, haha. That's why even if I'm really tired after a long day, I really make it a point to post, no matter what... Yes, mischief, again, haha. Have a nice day, Jan! :D

@Reena: Yeah, they're really funny. Oo nga, girls won't rest until they have the last say. Have a nice day, Reena! :D

@Lemuel: Oh, I like what you said about "Marriage will bring the best in every husband". You got me thinking on that one. Yes, that's true. I think marriage would show what a man is made of. And yes, the mistake would help him become a better person. Thanks, Lemuel. Have a nice day! :D

@Richard: That's true. We really won't know the true character of our partner until we're married. And marriage could show one's true character. And the best way to do is make the best of it and cooperate. Thanks, Richard! Have a nice day too! :D

@Elizabeth: Haha, i like the reaction of your husband. Funny. And I like what you said about the boomerang thing. Funny. Take care, Beth! :D

I think. :D Oh, I like your comment that says "The best thing you can achieve is a tie... around your neck!". That's really witty. Thanks! And have a nice day! :D
