First Award Ever!

Hey, hey, hey, guess what! (Drum rolls, please). I got an award! Yay me! My first blog award ever! How neat is that! Gotta love blogging. Where else can I get an award for fueling my narcissistic streak. In blogging, apparently! :)

I've got nice and cool blogger Joji to thank for it. Thanks a lot, Joji! :) Thanks for remembering and sharing this award with me.

So, lets see the award rules which go something like this:

"When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real.

Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!"

Oh, this is going to be fun!

So, the ten honest things about myself, here they are:

1. I love books. That probably explains my entry before this. If others collect ... um, whatever it is they collect, I collect books. Among others, actually, haha. We have a room in our house just dedicated to and filled with books. Ask my sister and she'd readily agree and all the while roll her pretty eyes. Oh, actually, it's just a small room, but hey, it's still a room. And the 2nd actually: half of them is my husband's. Apparently, the old adage of birds having the same feathers flocking together applies to us, just with a twist, though. It's now: bookworms love each other. And a tip: if ever you want to find me in a mall, just go the book store with the most number of books, and you'll surely find me there. Whoa, how geeky could I get???
   
   
2. I love to play The Sims 2. I used to spend hours on end playing the game. And downloading free houses, objects and whatever it is that would make my Sims beautiful and happy. But I haven't played it, though, for a couple of months now.
   
   
3. For, I've been busy, among other things, with blogging and blog-hopping - my newfound hobby.
   
   
4. I am so addicted to LOST. You know, the television series that gets more mind-boggling each episode. I'm amazed at how intelligent and well planned the whole show is. Simply the best! Hey, have you seen the last episode? Wanna swap theories?
   
   
5. I'm actually a tv series junkie. I'm always on the lookout for good tv series out there. Aside from Lost, I love BBC's Robin Hood and Fox's Prison Break and 24. Go Jack Bauer.
   
   
6. I'm an incurable romantic. Which explains why a good portion of my books are romance novels. There's nothing quite like a good old romance story to make my toes curl and make me sigh with pleasure.
   
   
7. In relation to that, I love watching period movies where men wears breeches and stockings and cravats and ladies don their shimmering ball gowns. Probably a product of being a Jane Austen fan.
   
   
8. I'm a night-owl, something that I'd really like to change given the fact that nobody does business at night and I feel alone in a quiet house where everybody's all asleep.
   
   
9.  I'm a bit of an OC (obsessive compulsive), but I'm trying to tone it down a bit. It started when my son got amoeba when he was just 11 months old and it was really heartbreaking to see such a small baby get injected so many times. That stuck, I guess.
   
   
10. So what else? Umm, oh, here's one: I'm supposed to be the complete anti-thesis of what a lawyer should be. Oh, I really don't know how or what they perceive a lawyer should be, but there's some sort of an unwritten rule or ideal or criteria or something. Beats me, actually! But anyway, as they say, I'm the compete opposite because I'm soft-spoken, very ladylike, dainty and always diplomatic. Get my drift? People would sometimes ask me if judges believe me or if I've ever won cases in court. Strange as it may seem to them (and to me too, actually, haha), but they (judges) seem to, and I did have.
