It's all about why I love my husband.
For a union that marked a decade a year ago, the list could be endless. I could say I love my husband because he's my bff - best friend forever; or because he's really such a loving guy who takes really good care of me and our son; or he's the person who I can tell everything to and just be myself; or that he's such a good father, I get amazed at times; or because he's my editor-in-chief who reviews my blog posts before I click the "publish" button; or how about because he's my tech support who makes my computer and this blog up and about and running; or (to borrow Jerry Maguire's line) because he definitely completes me (aw!).
And that would all be true. And right on target, I would say. But not really enough. And limiting, in a way.
I believe that all relationships that have gone as far as we had have become multi-dimensional and intricate enough through the years that a couple of words cannot and would not accurately and sufficiently describe all its aspects, the reasons for loving one's partner being the top most.
So, I would say that the best way to tell you why I love my husband would be - because I just do.

He maybe all these wonderful things to you, but I guess - to borrow a line in As Good As It Gets - you make him try to be a better man. I'm not saying your husband is Melvin Udall (Jack Nicholson) personified. Obsessive-compulsive and all that. It's the context on which that compliment was made. :)
Wow Mommy Dee, parehong pareho tayo ng story ah..Hahaha! I do beieve in love that has no reason. I love my husband because I just do. That's perfect. I cannot say that I love him because he's that and because he is this, what if he is not that or this anymore, does that mean I will love him less?

Honestly... for me, why i love my husband?... I love him because "Behind every bitch is the man who made her one." hahaha! you know what i mean!
your description to your husband is so inspiring that husbands wish they would also get those compliments from their wives. honestly sometimes i feel that my wife rarely finds time to complement or appreciate me because she's too busy with work and at home. i pray that someday my wife and i will have the same relationship as what you have with your husband. thanks!

Wow! tama naman e, khit gano pa kadami list natin, it all boils down to one thing: I love my husband just because I do. pag me iba pa naman reasons, i think conditional love na yun. :)

I love this post, Dee. You're both lucky. SO more than a decade already? That's really something to celebrate. I say you're lucky because you love each other still after all this time.

Now that my children are all grown up, my only wish remaining is that they marry well. Finding the right guy/gal could be a hit or miss thing and it's for keeps. Well, almost all of the time. :-)

@Lemuel: The thing is, my husband and I don't really have the perfect relationship, and I don't think others have. There are times when I give him headaches and he does the same to me. I'm not an expert on relationships, but I think there are temporary phases in life when couples get busy with other areas in life. But I'm pretty sure that it'll pass. And I think as long as you love each other, phases like that would remain temporary. God bless. :)
