I will soon be giving away copies of this book "The Noticer" by bestselling author Andy Andrews, courtesy of the wonderful people behind it, so please watch out for that.
During these tough economic times, it's quite easy to get consumed by all the negativity and immediate concerns around us that we may have forgotten the important little things that we do still have. The Noticer Project is a great way to remind us of that by helping us get a fresh perspective in life thru noticing the small things that really matters. Based on the book "The Noticer" (Thomas Nelson, April 28, 2009) by bestselling author of the "Traveler's Gift" Andy Andrews, it is a worldwide movement to notice the five most influential people in our life. Noticing those five people is meant to encourage us to step outside our busy schedules and avoid waiting until a wedding, graduation or even a funeral to take notice of the special, influential people in our lives . . .
Here's the complete press release:

The Noticer Project: Who will you notice?
Movement invites people everywhere to recognize five inspirational people in their lives
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - In the current climate of economic strife and social strain, it has become more important than ever for people to take a step back and realize just how fortunate they are. On April 7, 2009, a viral grassroots movement called The Noticer Project will answer the need for a little hope and a fresh dose of perspective by calling on people everywhere to "notice" the five most influential people in their lives. What better way to count our blessings than by recognizing the special people who inspire and encourage us every day?
Based on the central message in The Noticer (Thomas Nelson | April 28, 2009 | 978-0-7852-2921-1 | Hardcover |$17.99) by bestselling author Andy Andrews, The Noticer Project is meant to encourage people to step outside their busy schedules to take notice of five special people who have made a positive impact on their lives. As a result, participants in The Noticer Project not only acknowledge the contributions of other people on their lives, but they also gain a fresh perspective on their own journey.
"In times like these, it's important not to get wrapped up in what we don't have or what we're lacking, but instead to focus on the simple things in life that give us hope," says Andrews, an internationally renowned speaker and author of The Traveler's Gift. "It is most often our friends, family, teachers, spiritual leaders and heroes who truly inspire us. With The Noticer Project, I want to encourage folks everywhere to give the gift of noticing someone today, and gain perspective on their own lives in the process."
Andrews says noticing five people can be as private (just a letter or email) or as public (posting to a Facebook page or joining The Noticer Project Facebook group) as participants choose. Whether thanking a high school English teacher in an email for the motivation to pursue the dream of writing, or posting a note on Facebook recognizing Martin Luther King for his historic civil rights legacy, participants in The Noticer Project utilize the "pay it forward" concept to offer hope and encouragement through the simple act of recognizing someone significant.
Andrews' new book, The Noticer combines the author's true life story, fiction and allegory to reveal the healing power of perspective. It follows "Jones," a mysterious older man who enters into the lives of people in the midst of crisis - on the brink of divorce, on the verge of financial ruin, about to give up on life - to impart sage-like wisdom on how to change their view of the world to move past life's biggest challenges.
"When we notice things about ourselves and other people that allow us all to regroup, take a breath, and begin our lives again, the best is surely yet to come," writes Andrews in The Noticer.
Andrews, whose combined works have sold millions of copies worldwide, resides in Orange Beach, Ala., with his wife and two sons. His popular book The Traveler's Gift is an international bestseller with more than a million copies sold. It was an ABC "Good Morning America" book-of-the month selection, the subject of a two-hour PBS special and landed spots on The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists. So please take a moment to notice five inspirational people in your life. I'm really curious to know as to who they are?

Wow, nice concept for a book. Which has become a worthy movement. I think every Filipino should have a copy, you know? Lots of disgruntled folks out there. Whiners. Professional complainers. The whole lot.
The last sentence it appears to me is a question for yourself. You're not sure you want to ask the question? It seems so to me. Make up your mind, Dee. hahaha.
Just in case you really want to know. Here's mine:
1. Somebody who got away.
2. Somebody who got away even before I had the guts to make up my mind. Then it's too late.
3. Somebody who got fed up with me because I got away.
4. Somebody who's already in heaven.
5. Somebody who followed no.4 in heaven 15 days after.
There! hahaha
@Jan: Yes, I believe it's an excellent book. I'm really excited to read it. It has an excellent message that all of us need.
Oh, the last sentence is sort of a writing style, lol.
Great list you have there. I'm curious to know more about the first three. I sense a good story behind them.:D
Thanks a lot for this, Dee. It made me do something special to someone special in my life, a long time friend. I just did. Been to the site.
Love to get a copy of this book, it would be a timely read. The other day, it was like playing a "Jones" role to a younger sibling who thinks she's never loved and because of that she made stupid decisions in life that made her a failure. I told her that she had depreciated instead of appreciated what was entrusted to her. We had a long conversation that early morning. While I spoke to her patiently, she simply wept. Still not completely opening herself to a better way of seeing things in order to heal her ways. Well, it's a long story Dee. A story too taxing to my already miserable soul. Like trying to play "Jones" when I myself badly needed a "Jones" to help me? You may never knew what it feels like, like it's straining and draining my fragile soul too. Kini gung kinamaguwangan ta, ma alternate ginikanan pud ta, haaay.
i hope i can get a copy.. it looks interesting. here is my list of the 5 inspirational people in my life:
my wife
my son
my mom
my sister
my aunt
all females (except my son)... i could have written my dad but he was absent for quite some time in my life. i still love him though, everybody deserves a second chance.
Just a couple of missed opportunities and one clean getaway. I came out as anti-hero in all those things. Bad for my rep, whatever. lol.
@joji: Jones? Who is Jones - if I may butt in?... I've read somewhere it's not allowed to comment on another blogger's post if you yourself has not updated your own blog. True, it's out there somewhere, tut tutting us all.
Lol. Kidding! I just miss your posts. Go and update your blog, please? hehehe
