This is a photo of my relatively new Bible, taken by my husband some months back. I came across this today while trying to clean my computer's hard drive and I thought that it's quite a pretty decent shot that it's such a shame to leave it hiding there without anyone to see. So I thought I'd show it to you and will just try to come up with an excuse on why on earth I'm showing you my lovely Bible. Well, of course, apart from the fact that it's lovely and that sounds like a good excuse as any, I need some kind of a sensible explanation to go with this photo. So I thought and thought and kept on thinking to the point of wracking my brains out, but there just comes a point when one needs to admit that some days aren't just good days to be creative. So, we'll just have to settle on "it's such a shame not to be seen by anyone".
So, yes, this is my new Bible - a bluish girly-girly New International Version with silvery pages, pink bookmark and a cute lime green flower lock that is actually more of a decor than a lock. No, it's not my mother's day gift. I didn't get any, by the way. Just a couple of hugs and kisses which is really fine with me considering that I associate with souls who aren't really big about that event; they think that a day isn't enough to honor moms, actually. Oh, well. Going back to my bible, as you can see, it has a really pretty look, but more importantly, it's a surprise from my husband on one of those occasions.
So, that's pretty much it - my bible and a couple of rants. Thanks for bearing reading.

Hi DEE!!! hows the blogging world? thanks for the comments at my blogpost. i haven't got the chance to reply right away.
your bible still looks neat and clean. mine is still displayed at the altar, fresh from our wedding day. sometimes im feeling guilty i'm not opening it most of the time....bad girl huh?
you are still creative, what a quick mind to post ideas about your bible. it reminds your readers of how well their bible is doing nowadays.
regards to your husband Lucrecio!
yap,Petit is right--nadale na naman ako ni Dee^_^I don't have any Bible here or any Santos from Pinas kaya minsan nakakalimutan ko na 'Cya'(naku!magdadarama ba naman ako pati dito?!)I guess ang last na hawak ko ng Bible eh nung ikinasal kami.Pag-uwi ko ng Pinas next year,I'll buy one para meron ako dito--Thanks,Dee!^_^
I love the color of your Bible!!^_^
i didn't notice the rants. :) i think mothers really deserve to be recognized on that one special day.
i like the bible! especially its jacket. :)
Well I hope your husband reads your blog... so he will never forget this special day anymore...:-)
and please tell sir lucring, i mean sir lucrecio, tapusin na yung underconstruction na site nya.
Cute bible, very feminine and nice. Like it! :)
@Petit: Hi! It's all right! :D
Blogging's fine although I'm pretty late at replying to comments sometimes. But I'm catching up, like now, for instance. :)
Oh, not a bad girl! Far from it! Maybe just busy, but definitely not a bad girl!
Yeah, it's relatively new. My son and I use it. I actually have quite a collection of Bibles. Some are really tattered already because of so much use. This one is the newest addition to the collection.
Thanks, I'm actually just babbling and finding words to accompany the post. But I love my Bibles. :)
@Clarissa: Yeah, I know you'd love the color because I think you also like blue, if I'm not mistaken. Do you like the color blue too? Thanks, Clarissa. Have a lovely day! :D
@Reena: Haha, thanks for that, Reena. Yes, I agree about Mother's Day. Oh, I love the bible too. Parang pang girly siya and maybe that's what attracted me to it. ;)
@Sidney: Good idea! He didn't forget though. But I'll sure make him read my blog more often. Thanks, Sidney! :D
@Petit: Hahaha, okay, I'll sure tell him. :D
@Shey: Thanks, Shey! :D
Cute bible Dee. We have 2 bibles here in the house but it's sad that no one is opening and reading it. Yeah, it's a shame. But it doesn't mean that we don't believe in God. We have strong faith in Him. hindi ko lang siguro kinalakihan.
I have my own Bible and I read it everyday. It is very fragile now. As Catholics, we must read the Bible for our Church first engineered it.
The Bible is one of the best books that feeds the soul and makes us want to live as best we can despite whatever is happening. This is a good blog entry.. I loved it!
"I didn't get any" lol
I hope Luke gets to read that
it's okay Dee, you don't need a reason to show us the picture of your bible.
the picture itself is good enough a reminder for the rest of us to go check our own bible... and read it ;)
@Rossel: Thanks.
Each of us have different ways of showing our faith. I think no one is better than the other. What's important is that we believe in a Supreme Being. :D
@Francis: Hi. Yes, reading the Bible is really helpful. Thanks, Francis. :D
@Guia Gomez: Hi. Yes, that's true. I actually still get amazed how it contains a lot of wisdom and practically everything. Thanks, Guia. :D
Ang cute naman, girly girl nga ang itsura. Guilty ako sa di pagbabasa. Meron din kami dito kaya nga lang di nabubuksan.Feeling ko tuloy ang sama ko. ahehehe! Hugs and kisses from your kids ay mas ok kesa sa material things diba? Hope u had a wonderful mother's day!

i dnt know about the BBC channel. we dnt have that ata. :)
where's lucrecio na? in fairness, wala pa syang disenteng post, may followers na sya! hahaha.
@Roy: Hi. Oh, actually, I wasn't complaining. I have a great husband and a great kid and they're really more than enough. :D
Thanks for what you said in the 3rd paragraph, Roy. That was nice.
This post is a reminder for me too to read my Bible often. :D
@Anney: Yes, I had a good Mother's Day, thanks. Ay, hindi ka masama ha. :) People have different ways lang talaga of practicing faith but what's important I think is the presence of faith. :D
@Jodi: Hi Jodi! :D Each of us have different ways of showing faith and what's important is there's faith. :D
@Reena: Ay, buti ka pa! Ako I'll make double time with A&D pa.
Ay, I actually saw that movie sa DVD. Oo nga, parang walang BBC dito. Try mo baka meron sa rental store.
Hahaha, oo nga e. Talo pa ako. Natawa nga ako doon. Hay, si Lucrecio talaga! :D
wow, dee...as in handsome husband, eheh! ei, luke i know your smiling somewhere,e hehe!
@Elmot: Oh, Luc would like that, I'm sure!
Aw, smiling?! Well, more like having creases in his forehead trying to determine where his blog is going. Well, good for him! Now, he finally had it! Hahaha. :D
I used to have a smallish King James version of the Bible. But I lost it. It's the finest Bible I've ever read - not one of those Gideon bibles being freely distributed in public schools.
So you're a bible reader pala. Well, it shows in your writing. Simple and yet may depth.
I'm a strange fellow, you see. I read bibles not for guidance but for its magnificent writing. It's a writer's bible, too, technically speaking.
And yet I'm a bit disappointed. Where's the rant? You've promised us a couple of rants, Dee. Hmmmn.
Part 2? Ahahaha.
hahahaa!!kahit pala dito napag-uusapan si Luc!kagagaling ko lang sa site ni Reena eh!^_^ Happy weekend to you,Dee!!Yap,fave ko nga ang blue!galing ni Dee!!Ingat!!
hi dee. this is weird. i am in my bible-reading mode these days. and i was thinking of making my post about it. i love the new living tradition translation because the words used are commonly used today and as it claims, said edition is meant to be read aloud. it also comes with references to the hebrew and greek texts. it also has summaries for each book. i have this feeling your bible is also from OMF literature? i am recommending it, highly. it was given to me as a gift by someone whose story i wrote before at work but only had the chance to read it the other day. i have always wanted to read the bible since my parents are non-practicing catholics and i don't have much idea what is in the bible. the only memory i have of having bible knowledge is from flying house on tv. hehehe... go read it!
hi dee! i am also guilty by taking for granted our bible at home. my wife and i picked a nice looking bible before we got married but i have not opened it since then. very bad, display lang. anyway, my mom had a "big" bible before plus it has illustrations. i don't know where she got it but it was enough for me to read it. hopefully i will have more time to read it regularly.
i have 10 different versions of the bible here in my table. I use these during arguments and debates.
by the way, I added your blog in my top 10 influential blog of 2009
test
Hi Selboy! Good to have you here.
How can I access your website? I tried to follow your link but it lead nowhere...
Oh, thank you so much for including me in your list. I'm really flattered. Thanks really!
Oh, that's nice! Different versions of the bible really help to see different points of view. We have only four versions but 12 bibles. Reminds me to get other versions as well.
Thanks for the visit and hope you'll be back! :)
Yes, King James is good especially the writing. But I have difficulty understanding it at times because it's old English, so I stick to New International Version.
I grew up going to Sunday Schools and church afterward every Sunday, where Bible reading is a must. We used to memorize Bible verses a lot. I kind of took that as a habit, so that's why.
Oh, no part 2. This is it. I thought that some of the sentences in this post are just rants, hehe.
