Along Came You: A Book Review

Along Came You is a heartwarming and beautifully written book that truly tugged at my heartstrings.

Written by Karona Drummond and wonderfully illustrated by Estelle Corke, this delightful debut tale for parents and children tells of the touching changes that takes place after a woman becomes a mom.

Expecting a baby is always a joyous occasion in our lives. There's some kind of magic in the air. But some say that there's also a downside to it: like the seemingly endless procession of sleepless nights; clutter around the house; difficulty in traveling, etc.. Karona Drummond, however, shows us that despite all those difficulties, a child is still the most beautiful gift in this world. Having a baby is fun and filled with so much happiness. Life after a child arrives may not be the same as before, but it's still great, nonetheless. Happy, on a deeper level.

One of my favorite lines from the book is this:

"Before you, my world was quiet. 
After you, there is joyful noise."

Which is very true and something that I can well relate with.

The book is filled with charming illustrations that captures what the author is trying to impart.

I highly recommend this book. It's sweet, touching and fun. For would-be-moms or women who are expecting, this is definitely a recommended read for you. And for women who are now moms, this is a nice book that enables us to revisit how it was the first time we became moms and how truly wonderful and magical it had been.
