Four Wives: A Book Review

Four Wives is the story of four married women who lives in a wealthy suburban town. Married to handsome and wealthy men, these women meet while planning a public health benefit. Each has her own personal relationship issues - Marie, the lawyer who juggles work, family and a new intern who wants to be more than just her assistant; Gayle, the heiress and a victim of her abusive husband who consequently takes refuge with prescription drugs; Janie, the housewife who's having a heated affair with another man; and Love, the doctor's wife who is having some issues with her estranged father.

These four wives get to know each other. As a result, their lives get entangled. Readers get to see the problems and issues confronting them. As these characters learn more of one another, they begin to see their own personal predicament in a different light.

The story presents the different viewpoints of each character which immensely help the reader understand them and what's going on in their relationships and in their lives better. It takes a look at how people isn't really what they seem to be. It takes a look at how relationships can get complicated.

The ending is, however, happy, which counts a lot. Overall, this book written by Wendy Walker is an absorbing tale that provides an interesting, good read.
