Filling Our Little Nest

Have I mentioned that we just moved places? Yes, we have. Again. Home for us now is a single-family detached house in the suburb. It's a neat little place with its own backyard, containing two or three fruit trees and some shrubs. The trees and shrubs need some pruning, but it's lovely, nonetheless. There are lots of space and plenty of air. We love it immensely. And it's bare as bare can go.

That's the thing: this place doesn't yet contain things that one usually finds in a house. Not much home furnishings yet. We don't even have a proper bed yet. What we've got is our old, reliable mattress that does the job for now. We're doing some online shopping to get what we need, and we got a lot of help from this online shop that provides everything on sale in the Web, giving us access to better products with better deals.

First on our list of things to acquire (can you guess it?) would a bed. A proper bed is essential. Though our current mattress is okay, a proper bed would still be good since my husband constantly complains of back pains and discomfort in getting up with our current sleeping gear. He does have a point because as a matter of fact, it's quite difficult to get up when you're almost touching the floor. And while we're talking about comfort, I think he needs a therapeutic pillow as well for better comfort.

And of course, to go with the bed, we need the other stuff too that a bed needs, like bedspreads and blankets. I would like the bedspreads to be those kind that will cover the entire bed; and the blankets should be something that provide the right amount of warmth as I actually get cold easily. Comforters are essential too for the cold season. We also need pillows. My son loves pillows. He needs two - one for under his head and the other for cuddling.

After the bed, our next agenda would be to shop for lighting. We like our spaces well-lighted so we're starting to browse over different lamps. I need a desk lamp for my working desk and my son need his night lights. He actually can never sleep without night lights. Total darkness is not something for him, so he always have a night light on.

Then after that, we need to buy other things that will come in handy around the house. Like a clock, for instance. It would be nice to go around the house and see what the exact time is with a clock on the wall. You could say that we always want to be on time. We need a mirror too for the foyer. But I think before we get the mirror, we need to get some curtains first. The windows just look so bare now without curtains. And curtains help a lot in ensuring us some privacy.

We actually have a lot in our list. We know it'll take some time to fill the whole place up, but hopefully, little by little, we'll be able to do just that, and make it really comfortable and nice-looking.
