Going to college and getting a degree has never been more pertinent than in these tough economic times. I've been getting lots of advice telling me that to prepare for, and survive, a recession, going back to college helps a lot. And yes, I do agree. It's true that if one is armed with a recession-proof degree, one has better chances to survive just about any economic condition, including one as difficult as a recession. Admittedly, though, going back to college can be costly. There's tuition, books, supplies, room and board and many other expenses to pay, that at times, paying for them seems quite unmanageable. As a result, a lot of college students get into debt. In fact, many college students graduate with a sizable amount of debt.
You, however, need not be one of them. You can still go to college or send your kids to school without falling into the debt trap. Consolidated Credit, a debt consolidation company, can help you manage your finances. They're an industry leader in providing credit card debt help, credit counseling, debt management and other financial services. An example of one of the good things they offer is their college debt guide that gives you information and help on money and debt. It helps to know that 78% of college students had at least one credit card and of that 78%, 32% have 4 or more cards, the average number of cards is 3, $2,748 is their average credit card debt, 13% of them have credit card debt between $3,000-$7,000, 9% have credit card debt greater than $7,000 and 8.7% of bankruptcies are from people under 25 years of age.
So go to school or send your kids to school for a better future. At the same time, get help in managing your finances with Consolidated Credit, your one stop debt solution center. Remember to get the college degree, but not get into the debt trap.
