News abound that the mythical blood-sucking chupacabra has been found. The dead chupacabra was found near Blanco, Texas. A Taxidermy student was said to have discovered the chupacabra in a family member's barn and used poison to capture it. At that time, the student did not know that it may be a chupacabra.
What is a chupacabra? Literally, chupacabra means goat sucker. That is because a chupacabra is reported to attack livestock—specially goats—and drink their blood. Reports are inconsistent but it appears that a chupacabra is similar in size to a small bear. A chupacabra's spine is said to be prominent along its back.
The chupacabra was allegedly first seen as early as 1990 and the first claimed chupacabra attack was reported on 1995. Does the chupacabra attack humans? Thankfully, it seems that chupacabras only attack livestock.
Whether a chupacabra really exists or whether it is just a variety of coyote, fox, or other similar animals, only time and scientific research can tell. But just be wary when a large, hairless monster with red eyes, long fangs and a forked tongue hisses at you. It just might be a thirsty chupacabra. :)
