Motorist Calls 911 to Report a Toy Helicopter Crash

I read this funny, yet true, story about how a South Carolina driver called 911 to report a helicopter crash. It turned out that it was a helicopter, all right, but just a remote controlled toy helicopter all along. Whew!

This motorist was driving in Interstate 526 in South Carolina when he saw a helicopter in the distance "spewing smoke as it plunged toward the Wando River". He then called 911. Police, Charleston Fire Department trucks and a fire battalion immediately went to the scene. All that fuss, only to find out it was just a toy all along.  They must all have had some good laughs there. The toy helicopter was about 2 feet long. The toy chopper was operated by two people below the interstate bridge when it went down.

How's that for being a blooper. Sounds like something you would see in the TV show Punked.
