This one is big. Ford recalls 4.5 Million of its cars from the road. The reason? A faulty switch within the cruise control system. The faulty switch can leak hydraulic fluid, overheat, smoke, and then burn. This could prove to be a huge fire hazard. Quite scary specially if you drive your Ford in long distances. I think these cars should come with fire extinguishers as standard equipment.
What is bothersome is that Ford does not seem to be trying hard to make sure that Ford owners get their recalled vehicles back into the dealerships to get fixed. The recall was not spread around by Ford but by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Ford should be responsible enough to make sure the cars get off the road quick and these defects get fixed soon.
