I learned from my nice blogging friend Fedhz that October 5 is World Habitat Day. The thrust of World Habitat Day can be summarized with this:
Let's stand up on World Habitat Day and let it be known that affordable, adequate housing should be a priority everywhere - in our communities, in our towns, in our country, in our world.
According to the United Nations, millions of people in the world today do not have homes. Still, millions experience severe housing problems and are living without adequate sanitation, with irregular or no electricity supply and no adequate security.
World Habitat Day aims to foster and raise awareness of these conditions in order to bring these issues to the national and international level.
Join us as we raise awareness of poor living conditions around the world, by spreading World Habitat Day.
